The Code of Ethics of Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia Inc. Members

  • Provide oral health care utilising the highest level of professional knowledge, judgement and skill;
  • Serve all patients without discrimination;
  • Hold in confidence the details of all professional services and the confidence by or of any patient;
  • Refrain from criticising the dental profession;
  • Function harmoniously with all health professions;
  • Comply with and support National Legislation;
  • Report any breaches of such Legislation;
  • Create and maintain a healthy and ecological work environment that will minimise risk to patients and colleagues;
  • Support and participate in our professional association and uphold its objectives and policies;
  • Develop co-operative relationships and exchange knowledge with allied health professionals;
  • Advance professional competencies through continuous learning to meet the highest standards of care;
  • Hold confident all matters and details pertaining to the Association;
  • Attain permission prior to any written or verbal public statement.
